January 2018 News

Winter is always a busy time here, the animals all need extra feed and mucking out as most are indoors overnight. We are all looking forward to the nights drawing out and welcoming in the spring.

The farm helpers have had some additional animals to care for recently as we currently have some foster dogs in our care. During the last year we adopted two dogs from Romania from the Charity Rescuing European Animals in Need (REAN). They are a small charity that do amazing work rescuing dogs and cats from the cruellest conditions. With temperatures regularly dropping as low as minus 20 many of the puppies and older dogs are at risk of freezing to death, so we offered to foster some while they are waiting to find their forever homes. They are a real hit with the farm helpers who are enjoying playing with them, taking them for walks and generally getting them socialised.

If, you would like to find out more about REAN and the work they do, or would like to adopt a dog through them please visit their website www.rean.org.uk or facebook page.
